Hooray to 2016, Cheers to 2017!
Was it a test of will? Or, was it simply stubborn passion at work? However, we look at the driving force behind the TechTalks.ph team, it represents our motivation to grow. Not on our own, not through our own strength. But rather in the diversity of the culture, we belong to that permeates in a global scale the immeasurable talent of the Filipino at work.
“Technology is an equalizer,” this is how the TechTalks.ph CEO always put it. The immense creativity and skill of the Filipino is a sleeping giant that needs to be awakened; it requires a trigger that would provide a platform and at the same time challenge these ideals. And technology is just that.
The Philippines is a small country, but it is one of the countries with the biggest heart. Not only because I am a Filipino but because it is the truth. We transform challenges to opportunities; we rebel against the norm because we hate mediocrity; we complain a lot waiting for the right solutions to surface. That is the Filipino way. That is the TechTalks.ph way.
Having joined the team almost a year ago and coming from a first world work culture, I dare not expect anything in return. I made a conscious decision to enjoy the process, to grow in pain, to relentlessly pursue boundaries both in our capacity as a team and our aspirations as an international company.
There was no turning back, even if there is - I would still be at the front door of TechTalks.ph, probably a minor support for Geeks on a Beach, a consultant for Corporate Innovation Services, a strategist for the Affiliate Program or just a quiet supporter of Tech Connect. With TechTalks.ph, it’s not a problem if one door closes. You get the chance to find the next door open or blast your way inside it using either wits, guts or humor.
This is my TechTalks.ph story; Geeks on a Beach, SlingshotPH, Takeda and a whole lot of Content Marketing. And this is the story that I wish to share as we end the year with bigger expectation, with bigger challenges, with a bigger and better team mindset.
TechTalks.ph welcomes diversity and provides opportunities. To our partners, the people we have worked with and to those who have supported us, may you reach the maximum impact of the truth that it is always #BetterTogether.
We tried to reach the stars, but the stars reached out to us instead. It was a “shoot for the moon” attitude every single day, but the world wanted our “Midas touch” instead.
The thing about the #Startup life is that, once you start, you will change, you will fail, you will pivot, but you will never stop. And for TechTalks.ph, our team is just starting to piece the bigger picture together. We don’t actually need just your help; rather we need YOU - to believe in us, to learn with us, to grow with us.
Chief Content Officer, TechTalks.ph
