No man is an island. Same goes with startups, no matter how hard one tries, one cannot do everything on his own.
As a startup founder, you will always want to make everything work according to what you envision. As an entrepreneur, you have this tendency to dominate as you are the the idea-generator and innovator behind the company, and you feel that everybody should be on board with every decision you make.
Startup companies know that execution is better than having just an idea and not doing anything about it. That is why you need to hire people that would fit to your company’s need and have the same passion for your venture. Having the team will set your startup in motion and you can build strategic direction with them on board.
Making sure that the team works well with everybody and having the same level of passion for the business is a different story. Yet, this is very important and at the same time challenging. No one can do everything in a startup that is why having a quality, solid team is important.
As a startup, there will be flaws along the way and having a solid team will point out the mistake and offer solutions to the problem. Starting up is no easy task. No matter how much you believe in your idea and the execution, it's almost impossible to continually counter-check yourself and ensure you are managing your business the best way possible. It is always good to have a team in the company who will not hesitate to speak up on things that need to improve so that it will be fixed immediately.
Two heads are better than one. If you have a solid team, you’ll have better ideas and many options to solve an existing dilemma. The more ideas being shared, the stronger the solution.
“It’s not about what you know, it’s about who you know.” The more employees you have, the better networking opportunity you’ll get. Each member of your team always has friends and network and this could be a good niche for your startup to build an audience with. You are not just hiring an employee to sit around and make decisions, you are also harnessing their chances of building a larger network. Expanding network is one of the most important things a startup should do.
Connectivity in this age has skyrocketed, either via LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter pages and the power of social media is that people you meet there are varied so you will have more audience to network with. The potential of success of the business will be higher and at the same, enjoyable.
