PRESENTERS

Lisa Aldred - The Passion of Volunteering

“To you guys tonight, I declare myself as a hoarder. Not the stereotypical hoarder that springs to your mind - but a hoarder of passionate, life changing and life challenging experiences. I may have been born in the UK, but there are two places I call home - a rugby pitch (especially tackling people) and anywhere that welcomes diversity and equality. Roll the tape...”

Angelo Junio - Life of a Development Worker

Angelo is a 20-something youth worker from Manila. He used to be an architect working in a prestigious architectural company in Ortigas center, working from 9-5, not mentioning ridiculous overtime, when suddenly he submitted his resignation letter effective immediately, citing quarter life crisis as his main reason but in reality he just wanted to climb a mountain but the HR department didn't allow his request to leave for 4 days. On the top of the mountain he realized that he's not a 9-5 person. That he was just wasting his precious time in a small cubicle drafting floor plans and elevations.

Lollette Olive Alipe - Living An Extraordinary Life

What are PechaKucha Nights?

PechaKucha Nights are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together and share their ideas, works, thoughts, holiday snaps -- just about anything, really -- in the PechaKucha 20x20 format.

What is the PechaKucha 20x20 format?

PechaKucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images.

The presentation format was devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Klein Dytham architecture.

What makes a good PechaKucha?

Good PechaKucha presentations are the ones that uncover the unexpected -- unexpected talent, unexpected ideas. Some PechaKuchas tell great stories about a project or a trip. Some are incredibly personal, some are incredibly funny, but all are very different, and they turn each PechaKucha Night into “a box of chocolates.”
